It is unlawful for any corporation to practice or offer to practice medicine, podiatric medicine, or to perform medical acts through one or more physician assistants without a valid Certificate of Authorization issued by the Board.
Following receipt of a completed medical corporation application and the associated payment, the Board will issue a Letter of Authorization which will allow the corporation to complete the West Virginia Secretary of State business registration process.
Following issuance of a Certificate of Incorporation by the West Virginia Secretary of State, the Board of Medicine will issue a numbered Certificate of Authorization to the corporation, which is valid for a period of two years.
If you have any questions regarding the medical corporation authorization process or eligibility criteria, please contact the Board at (304) 558-2921 Ext. 49878.
The West Virginia Board of Medicine is the sole authority for the issuance of licenses to practice medicine and surgery, to practice podiatry, and to practice as a physician assistant in collaboration with MDs and DPMs in the State of West Virginia, and is the regulatory and disciplinary body for medical doctors, podiatric physicians and their physician assistants.
