Verification of Licensure to Another State Board
All credentials issued by the West Virginia Board of Medicine are available on the Board’s website. Licenses, including temporary licenses, are included on a practitioner’s website profile, which can be accessed through the provider search feature. Spreadsheets are available for Educational Permits, Interstate Telehealth Registrations and Emergency Registrations issued during the COVID-19 State of Emergency. Additionally, verifications may be obtained as follows:
Expedited Verification
VeriDoc provides an expedited process to verify a medical license or a physician assistant license to another United States licensing Board. The fee is $42.00 per verification, and the verification is transmitted immediately upon request.

In-House Verification
The fee for all in-house verifications is $25 per verification. Please request a separate verification for each recipient Board.
The West Virginia Board of Medicine provides in-house verification for:
- Medical Licensure to be verified to an International Licensing Board
- Physician Assistant Licensure to be verified to an International Licensing Board
- All Podiatric Physician Licensure
- Educational Permits
- Interstate Telehealth Registrations
Additionally, the Board can provide in-house verification of MD and PA licenses to other United States licensing boards when an expedited verification is not required. However, the processing time is three to six weeks after receipt of a complete request.
The Board does not verify Temporary Licenses or Emergency Registrations issued during the COVID-19 State of Emergency.

Make payment and provide the name of the recipient state board. Board staff will contact you via email at the address you provide to obtain delivery instructions for the selected state board. Please complete the form and payment for each individual verification.
